Free Pet Food

At the Humane Society of Ventura County, we want to help keep animals out of shelters and in their homes! One big way we do this is by providing free pet food to those in need through our many free pet food programs.

Our Pet Food Bank, located within the shelter at 402 Bryant St. in Ojai, offers free dry and wet dog and cat food any time Monday - Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm. Our Pantry 4 Paws program offers pet food directly from our remote pet food banks located across Ventura County. The newest program, DoorDash PET, allows pet owners in need to get free dog and cat food delivered to their homes through DoorDash within a ten-mile radius of one of our host locations.

We are very excited to have had the opportunity to partner with DoorDash, Interface Children and Family Services Ventura County 211, and the United Way to deliver free dog and cat food to underserved communities across Ventura County. Pet owners in need can order free pet food through DoorDash within a ten-mile radius of one of our host locations. To enroll in this public service, call 844-984-0946. You must live within ten miles of one of our host locations to qualify. As a private nonprofit, we do not receive any government funding and we are not affiliated with any national animal welfare organizations. Pantry 4 Paws

Pantry 4 Paws, a countywide program operated by the Humane Society of Ventura County, offers pet food banks in various locations. With distribution facilities across Ventura County, Pantry 4 Paws aims to serve the needs of the underserved and unhoused members of our community. Pet Food Bank

The Pet Food Bank provides free pet food to low-income pet guardians. One of the most common reasons for pet relinquishment is financial difficulty. Our on-site Pet Food Bank operates with the hope that we can help people who are struggling to feed their beloved companions.
